We’re Hunter Home Services, a family-owned outdoor building business based in Thornton. For more than 10 years we’ve been designing and building patios, pergolas, decks, carports and glass rooms for homeowners across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland and the Hunter Valley. As a registered NDIS provider, we also help NDIS participants make their homes safer, more accessible and easier to live in.
We’re not a big franchise or a faceless call centre. When you ring us, you’ll talk to Kylie in our office. When we come out to quote, you’ll meet Troy. When the build starts, it’s Troy and the team on your site, the same people who’ll still be around years from now if you ever need us again.

Our Story
Hunter Home Services started with a simple idea: homeowners deserve a builder who gives honest advice, turns up when they say they will and finishes the job to a standard they’d be happy to put their name on.
More than a decade on, that’s still how we work. We’ve built everything from small patio awnings to large patio roof extensions, double carports, new decks and accessible home modifications for NDIS participants. Every job, big or small, gets the same care and the same attention to detail.
Most of our work comes from word of mouth and repeat customers, and we’re proud of that. When a customer tells us they’ll “call Troy first the next time we need something built”, we know we’ve done our job.

Meet the Team
Troy
Troy leads our design and building work. He comes out to your home for the consultation, listens to what you want from your outdoor space and gives straight advice on design, colours and materials. Then he’s on the tools with the team to build it. Customers often tell us Troy “brought our ideas to life”, and that’s exactly what he aims to do.
Kylie
Kylie runs our office and keeps every project on track. She handles bookings, quotes, council paperwork and updates, so you always know what’s happening and when. If you’ve got a question, Kylie will get back to you.
Connor
Connor is a qualified local tradie who takes pride in his work. He works alongside Troy to bring your ideas and spaces to life, with care and attention to detail. He’s on time, polite and respectful of your home, and keeps the site tidy throughout the build.

- NDIS home modifications: grab rails, handrails, ramps, step changes, door widening, lever taps and access paths. We work alongside your occupational therapist and support team.
NDIS Home Modifications and Support
As a registered NDIS provider, we help NDIS participants across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland and the Hunter Valley make their homes safer, more accessible and easier to live in.
We know a home modification is about more than building work. It’s about independence, confidence and being able to do everyday things comfortably in your own home. That’s why we take the time to listen, work closely with the people who support you, and make sure every change fits the way you live.
Working With Your Support Team
We work alongside your occupational therapist (OT), support coordinator and plan manager from the start. Your OT assesses your needs and recommends the changes. We then provide the detailed quotes and practical advice needed to get them approved and built properly.
You won’t have to chase anyone. Kylie keeps everyone in the loop, and Troy makes sure the finished work matches your OT’s recommendations.
